The Business of Therapy, Simplified.

The Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (FMHCA) stands as the foremost advocate for mental health professionals in the State of Florida. Our mission revolves around providing education, legislative oversight, and networking opportunities to mental health professionals within our state and sometimes beyond.

Join FMHCA on April 16, 2027, for The Private Practice Summit, a one-day virtual event dedicated to the evolving world of counseling private practice. The Private Practice Summit brings together counseling professionals at every stage of the private practice journey, from those just beginning to explore the idea of going independent, to new practice owners finding their footing, to established practitioners ready to elevate and expand what they have built.

This thoughtfully curated event is designed to meet you where you are and move you forward. Whether you are dreaming of your first client, navigating the early challenges of building a caseload, or looking to streamline operations and grow your impact, this summit offers practical tools, insightful conversations, and community with peers who understand the unique rewards and realities of private practice.

Throughout the day, participants will engage in sessions that blend real-world application with meaningful dialogue. Topics will include launching and structuring your practice, building a sustainable caseload, navigating insurance and private pay models, marketing yourself with integrity, managing the business side of care, social media presence, and cultivating a practice that aligns with your values and vision. Presenters will also explore current trends shaping the private practice landscape, offering insight into how today's counseling entrepreneurs can adapt, thrive, and lead.

The Private Practice Summit is more than a learning experience, it is an investment in yourself and the business behind your clinical work. Leave with actionable strategies, renewed confidence, and meaningful connection to a community of counseling entrepreneurs.

About Our Sponsor

Jane is a practice management software and EMR built to help make practice life easier for counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, and the clients they support.

When Jane’s co-founder Ali was running her own clinic, she needed software that felt user-friendly for both clients and practitioners and was secure, intuitive, and thoughtfully designed. When she couldn't find the right fit, Jane’s other co-founder, Trevor, built it. That solution became Jane.

Today, Jane offers easy online booking, flexible scheduling, customizable documentation, and a secure payment solution. And when questions come up, you're covered. Support is unlimited, so the Jane team is ready to help at any point in your Jane journey.

If you’d like to see Jane in action, book a demo and the team would love to show you around. Or use code FMHCA2MO at sign-up for a 2-month grace period on your new account.
