Graduate Student Resources at FMHCA

FMHCA is committed to supporting students as they progress through their studies and into their professional careers. The association offers a variety of resources specifically designed for students:

NCMHCE Scholarship: This donation-based scholarship helps students cover the costs associated with the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE), a crucial step towards licensure. By alleviating this financial burden, FMHCA ensures that students can focus on their studies and exam preparation.

Deadlines: June 1st and December 1st each year


The Silvernail Legacy Scholarship: Named in honor of a distinguished member of the mental health counseling community as well as FMHCA's first executive director, this donation-based scholarship offers comprehensive support to students, encompassing full conference admission to the annual FMHCA conference, complete registration for the FMHCA Summer Bash, and registration for the 8 hour Laws & Rules course needed as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern.

Registered Intern & Graduate Student Committee: FMHCA's Graduate Committee is a dedicated group that advocates for student needs and interests within the association. The committee organizes events, provides mentorship opportunities, and creates platforms for students to voice their concerns and ideas, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Annual Summer Bash: This virtual event is a highlight for student members, offering a relaxed and enjoyable setting for networking, professional development, and socializing with peers and experienced professionals in the field. The Summer Bash includes two weeks of workshops, guest speakers, and fun networking opportunities designed to build community and support among mental health counseling students.

These resources reflect FMHCA’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals, ensuring they have the support and tools needed to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.
