Attendees will examine ethical considerations, explore innovative AI-driven teaching strategies, and gain hands-on experience with practical tools. By the end, participants will be equipped to develop a personalized plan for integrating AI into their teaching practices—using the force of technology for good in shaping the next generation of counselors.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify and evaluate ethical considerations and best practices for integrating AI tools into counselor education, ensuring alignment with professional values and standards.
  2. Participants will examine innovative AI-driven teaching methods that support student engagement, critical thinking, and skill development in counselor training programs.
  3. Participants will gain hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g., chatbots, virtual simulations, adaptive learning platforms) and demonstrate how these can be used to enhance instructional design and student learning outcomes.
  4. Participants will design a preliminary plan for incorporating AI into their own teaching practices, tailored to their institutional context and student needs.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Bridget Glass is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor who holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, as well as a master's degree with a dual focus in both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage, Family, and Couple Therapy. Dr. Glass serves diverse populations and specializes in treating childhood trauma, relationship abuse, and workplace distress. She is a contributing author to the book, Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Throughout the Lifespan: A Clinician’s Guide to Treatment Considerations, and other articles which expand on the literature for Counselor Education. Dr. Glass is the Secretary of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. Dr. Glass’ cares for herself through traveling with her husband of 24 years and playing with her fluffy Goldendoodles, Cooper, and Barkley.
