Description: This 2-hour webinar, presented by the U-Model's creator, Dr. Rivka Edery, equips therapists with a structured method for combining the compassionate depth of Internal Family Systems (IFS) with the behavioral vitality of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Ideal for guiding clients who possess deep self-awareness but struggle to enact lasting behavioral changes, the U-Model delivers a seven-stage roadmap from inner fragmentation to empowered, values-driven living. You'll explore how to fuse IFS's Self-leadership and parts work with ACT's core processes: acceptance, cognitive defusion, present-moment awareness, self-as-context, values, and committed action.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Articulate the core principles of the U-Model, describing its synergistic integration of IFS and ACT to bridge internal multiplicity with behavioral change.
  2. Identify the seven stages of the U-Model and map key interventions from IFS (e.g., parts mapping, witnessing) and ACT (e.g., defusion exercises, values clarification) to each stage.
  3. Apply combined techniques, such as IFS unblending paired with ACT cognitive defusion, to enhance clients' access to Self-energy and reduce fusion with limiting thoughts or parts.
  4. Develop a U-Model-based case conceptualization and treatment plan that resolves internal conflicts while promoting values-aligned behavioral outcomes.
