DescriptionThe Therapeutic Martial Arts is program that is designed to combine several evidence-based clinical approaches and therapeutic interventions using group structure and Martial Arts.  The Therapeutic Martial Arts Program Level 1 Certification training familiarizes participants with a uniquely innovative program.  Participants are introduced to research and practical application of Therapeutic Martial Arts.  Techniques of stress management, anger control, improvement of self-esteem, goal attainment, as well as deeper traumatic issues. Participants will learn and be able to apply the Threat-Aggression Modulation Response (TAMR) Model, meditation, and clinical interventions utilizing Martial Arts techniques.  Level 2 seminar will encompass advance clinical and practical approaches in utilizing Martial Arts therapy with more complex clinical issues such as victimization, aggression, trauma, bullying, ADHD, and Autism.  Additionally, the training will focus on working with parents in applying learned techniques in their home and school.  Participants will learn how to set up an environment to implement their own independent practice or use Therapeutic Martial techniques in their individual practice.  All participants will have a year membership with the International Therapeutic Martial Arts Association (ITMAA.org).

* Level 1 Certification is required before pursuing Level 2 Certification.*

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand complex structures of Martial Arts therapy
  2. Apply practical and metaphorical approach using Martial Arts as therapy
  3. Apply Therapeutic Martial Arts Therapy with psychological disorders, behavioral problems, and social conditions
  4. Be able to set up independent practice sing Therapeutic Martial Arts

    About the Presenter:

    Dr. Eric Yuri Reznik obtained a Master’s degree with honors and a Doctorate degree, both in clinical psychology, from Miami Institute of Psychology (currently, Albizu University). He has a successful practice for over 35 years and he is recognized nationally and internationally for his innovative and comprehensive clinical approach. Currently, Dr. Reznik maintains a full-time clinical practice at BeWell Rehabilitation and Counseling Group, Inc., in Hallandale, Florida. He has taught in many colleges and universities. Currently, he is an adjunct faculty member at Barry University. Dr. Reznik has published books The Therapeutic Martial Arts. He is currently developing the Complete Mental Status Evaluation (CMSE) assessment scale. Dr. Reznik has a unique approach utilizing traditional and non-traditional therapeutic modalities, such as alternative therapies, Neurofeedback, light and sound therapies, hypnosis, and Ketamine Assisted Therapies (KAT).
