Description: Many of us enter the field of Mental Health Counseling with a passion and drive to help others. However, it is equally important to maintain a mindset of personal well-being for long term professional longevity. This presentation will be an interactive approach toward acquiring practical tools for new counselors on how to safe-guard their emotional and physical wellness, as they serve others in developing happier and healthier lives.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Bridget Glass is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor specializing in the treatment of childhood trauma, relationship abuse, and workplace distress in the helping professions from an ACT approach to counseling. She has provided consultation and training on topics such as developmental trauma, intimate partner violence, trauma-informed systemic practices, and secondary traumatic stress in the helping professions for regional and national conferences. She is a contributing author to the book, Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Throughout the Lifespan: A Clinician’s Guide to Treatment Considerations, and articles whch expand on the literature for Counselor Education. In addition, Dr. Glass serves as the secretary for the FMHCA Executive Board. Dr. Glass practices self-care through travel, making music, and playing with her fluffy goldendoodles.
