Description:

This course provides an overview of domestic violence and sexual assault along with available resources for clinicians and victims during the current pandemic. With many people spending more time quarantined at their homes, clinicians are becoming increasingly aware of the increase in incidences of domestic violence and sexual assault during sessions. Clinicians will gain a basic knowledge of the patterns and risks factors associated with domestic violence and sexual assault. Appropriate treatment modalities for working with this population and current available resources will be shared to assist clinicians in best the most holistic care for their clients.

About the Presenters: Victoria Siegel, LMHC

Victoria Siegel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Idaho. After completing her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, she obtained her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Vickie is currently the owner and sole psychotherapist at Pegasus Counseling Services, LLC. Within her 8 years as a therapist, she has worked in various treatment settings with a diverse range of clientele. Vickie’s specialties include working with victims of crime (domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, homicide and human trafficking), self-esteem, shame, stress management, PTSD, grief and loss, and addiction. Vickie has a passion for working with trauma and incorporates experiential practices, like Sandtray Therapy, into her sessions.
