Description: As a professional in this field, burnout is a topic that we may be all too familiar with. While assisting clients with burnout might come easily, accepting help as a clinician is not always so simple. Learn ways to recognize burnout and compassion fatigue, alleviate any occurrences, and prevent returning to the state again in the future.

About the Presenter:

Ashley Burchell is Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and Florida. She has experience working with children and adolescents, adults of all ages, families, and takes a particular interest in treating women’s issues.  Ms. Burchell’s clinical area of focus is managing the effects of trauma and disordered eating behaviors or self-image concerns. Some of her previous work has included providing inpatient counseling services on a women’s unit, leading a specialty track on early recovery from addiction and PTSD, as well as conducting outpatient mental health counseling across the spectrum of disorders. Ms. Burchell utilizes a holistic approach, with a focus on evidence-based treatment modalities including CBT, DBT, and MI, as well as incorporating Somatic approaches and Polyvagal Theory. Attachment-based interventions are also utilized.   Ms. Burchell has experience providing clinical case consultation and supports provisionally licensed clinicians in building their counseling skills and building professionalism. She has led seminars and trainings on site and for outside organizations to assist staff in enhancing their skills and navigating new concepts and modalities.
