Description: In this immersive 8-hour clinical residency, participants will move beyond theory into a high-intensity somatic practicum designed to bridge Internal Family Systems (IFS) with the mathematical precision of Process-Based Therapy (PBT). Using the U-Model™ and Somatic Decoding Laboratory, clinicians will learn to guide clients from “talking about” pain to genuine physiological unburdening - especially when systems become entropic, manifesting as high-arousal reactive impulses (the Skitch) or persistent nagging self-criticism (the Niggle). Through live micro-demos, supervised dyad/triad practice, and proprietary measurable tools (Parts Flexibility Inventory – PFI and Self-Connection Inventory – SCI), participants will master a three-stage Laboratory Protocol: The Kinetic Descent, The Empathic Base, and The Evolutionary Ascent. The day culminates in The Architecture of Sustainability, equipping clinicians with practical strategies to prevent system re-blending and relapse under real-world stress, while tracking long-term progress across a 30-Day Journey. This workshop delivers immediately applicable tools for trauma-informed care and delivers high-value CE credits in clinical skills and evidence-based practices.

This event is sponsored by FMHCA, an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider. FMHCA NBCC Provider# 2058. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  FMHCA is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. This course is approved by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW – FMHCA CE Broker #: 50-748

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify and Map the “Niggle-Skitch” network using somatic signal isolation to pinpoint specific kernels of pain (e.g., neck tension, chest tightness).
  2. Utilize the Parts Flexibility Inventory (PFI) to quantify real-time “decoupling” (defusion) from protective scripts.
  3. Apply the 8 C’s Frequency Check to induce a state of Self-Energy as a stable co-regulator for entropic internal systems.
  4. Execute a Functional Pivot to transition a protector part (e.g., a Distractor) into a values-aligned role (e.g., a Discerning Advisor).

About the Presenter:

Dr. Rivka Edery is the creator of the U-Model™ and Somatic Decoding Laboratory. She integrates the functional precision of Process-Based Therapy (PBT) with the depth of Internal Family Systems (IFS), translating idionomic science into practical somatic tools for trauma resolution and entropic internal systems. Her work equips clinicians with measurable, Monday-morning interventions grounded in both clinical rigor and embodied presence.
