Description: This session equips mental health professionals with a robust understanding of perinatal mental health, offering empirically-supported strategies to assess and treat common perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including postpartum depression, anxiety, and OCD. Grounded in the latest research, this presentation addresses the psychological, hormonal, and environmental factors impacting perinatal mental health, highlighting both evidence-based interventions and practical tools for building supportive, therapeutic relationships with perinatal clients. Participants will learn to navigate the complexities of perinatal mental health, with insights into recognizing diverse symptoms, tailoring therapeutic approaches, and identifying resources that foster client-centered support. While the session provides clinically valuable guidance, professionals should note that therapeutic approaches may vary, and it is essential to individualize treatment plans for each client's unique context and needs.
