Description: Have you ever been curious about how the practice of mindfulness can be brought into the therapy room to help clients with mood disorders? This presentation will introduce the foundation and multiple practices of mindfulness and how it has been blended with cognitive therapy to provide an evidence-based approach to increasing emotional resiliency. Counselors will learn effective strategies to apply with clients and for their own self-care. Come learn more about this mind-body base approach to reducing relapse and intensity of mood disorders.

About the Presenter:

Visual search query imageRachel Block-Stewart has been a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida since 2017. Rachel currently works as a LMHC in a group practice and provides qualified supervision to RMHCIs. Rachel has extensively trained in yoga therapy and has been a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) since 2015. Rachel has incorporated yoga and mindfulness strategies in therapy since 2010 both with in the school system, outpatient therapy and private practice settings. Rachel is currently working on certification to teach MBCT through Brown University.
