Description: Balancing clinical and billing considerations can be challenging for behavioral health providers. This session will explore a documentation framework that supports the integration of clinical processes and claimable activities. The presentation will include an overview of Medicaid and commercial insurance standards along with documentation training techniques for improved insurance compliance, and decreased paybacks at audits. We will cover document timelines, consents, assessments, progress notes, and treatment planning.

About the Presenters:

Ryan Fontaine roles, she has developed trainings for agencies and groups to improve compliance as well as providing documentation review and management support.ne, LMHC has 14 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings, from residential programs to in-home counseling. Ryan received a MA in Clinical Psychology from UCF and has been a part of program development, staff training, and quality assurance teams while working in a management capacity since 2014. 


Since 2000, Melissa Norris has held management roles enhancing and designing programs in the fields of mental health, behavior analysis, case management, residential facilities and community behavioral health. In 2016, Ms. Norris founded Credentialing Consultants of FL, dba TherAssist Practice Concierge, to support behavioral health providers with their practice needs. TherAssist provides consultation and training in all aspects of practice administration, with a focus on FL Medicaid compliance.
