Description: In this webinar, attendees will learn the ins and outs of recovery from complex trauma, how to gain empathy for the acting out behaviors of clients and a brief overview of various modalities and how they relate to the impact of trauma on the brain and body.  Some neuroscience will be described and questions for the future of trauma treatment will be explored.

About the Presenter:
Deborah Anthony is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor.  She has been a therapist for 21 years and has been in private practice for 10 years.  She has worked at non-profit agencies in California and New York specializing in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Addiction recovery and settled in Jacksonville, Florida 18 years ago where she has helped individuals and in families in inpatient, outpatient and schools settings.  She focuses on recovery from abuse and addiction and overcoming family cycles of trauma.  She has worked with military and their families for 7 years.  She currently works in private practice with adults and adolescents and helps couples have more authentic relationships.  She is a trauma-informed and trauma-focused therapist who takes an eclectic approach, often utilizing Internal Family Systems and Mindfulness and Polyvagal Theory.
