Description: Counselors around the nation are in shock after a former client forced his way into a late‑night therapy session in an Orange County office building and fatally attacked a licensed mental health counselor, leaving the Orlando mental‑health community shaken and deeply unsettled.  Many counselors, interns, clergy, and educators are struggling as they navigate the shock, fear, and uncertainty about returning to their offices in the aftermath of this loss. This rapid crisis‑debriefing webinar offers a structured process to understand and manage the psychological impact of traumatic loss within a professional community and to stabilize the symptoms that follow the tragic loss of a colleague and peer. Participants will learn the core patterns of community trauma recovery, including emotional responses and evidence‑informed tools for rapid stabilization. This session is free, open to all in the mental health community and will provide a safe environment for those most affected to verbalize their reactions while equipping all attendees with a neuroscience‑based framework used by first responders to prevent trauma from spilling into personal or professional life. As practitioners manage their own emotions and prepare to return to work, this FMHCA webinar will restore a sense of safety, strengthen resilience, and offer hope to a field grieving the tragic death of a colleague and fellow licensed professional.
