Description: This Webinar will review the existing literature on any discrepancies in eating disorder symptomatology and treatment that may exist within the demographic of gender and sexual minorities. Although there is a significant amount of literature on the presence of EDs and DEBs among the LGBTQIA+ population, there seems to be a gap in the research pertaining to the intersectionality with mindfulness-based interventions. This study will identify gaps in the research by addressing these specific questions: 1) How do mindfulness-based interventions intersect with ED/DEB symptomatology in individuals that belong to sexual and/or gender minority groups? and 2) What does the current literature say about ED/DEB symptomatology in subsets of gender and sexual minority groups (i.e., college-age individuals, ethnic/racial minorities)?
