Description: Studies have suggested that implementation of mental health services in schools provides early identification of mental health challenges, prevention programs, and other treatment options for underserved youth. The implementations of services offers opportunities for community health organizations, individual practices, and other agencies to develop an integrated comprehensive collaboration in formulating evidence based programs to support students needs and develop skills in dealing with conflict, bullying, problem solving, and development of healthy relationships. This creates opportunities for family supports and resources, early intervention services to formulate clinical groups: (grief, anger, anxiety, sadness), help identify early warning signs of mental health issues with students, and develop a referral process to ensure that all students have equal access to services and mental health supports. This ultimately may help build relationships to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. (Foster, et.al.,2005).
