Description: Dr. Jackson’s presentation is based on the research findings from her qualitative multiple-case study, discussed in a practical manner in this presentation and in her book I AM MORE THAN ENOUGH: Lessons of Transformation from Adult Children of Alcoholics. The presentation contains inspiring accounts from adult children of alcoholics, with and without personal addictions, after their long-term involvement in recovery. Jackson depicts the actual process of transformation for these ACOAs in her study, and the following themes emerged from her research: understanding alcoholism, self-transformation, interpersonal transformation, and psycho-spiritual transformation. Dr. Jackson provides a message of hope for mental health professionals treating ACOAs and other individuals in a recovery journey. Given the qualitative nature of her research, Jackson effectively captured the voices of ACOAs, with and without personal addictions, in her study.
