DescriptionThis course is used to give mental health professionals the fundamentals of the various types of alternative sexual and relationship expression that they may come into contact with in their therapeutic practice.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the ethographic concepts of kinky and alternative relationships, communities and their role, as a mental health provider.
  2. Understand the difference between healthy kink and pathology.
  3. Learn therapeutic interventions and common issues seen with power exchange, consensual non monogamy, asexuality, fetish, and other kinky clients.
  4. Evaluation of the science and research of kink.

About the Presenters:

Dr. Patty Evans aka Dr. Harmony is one of the leading Mental Health Counselors and Clinical Sexologists. She brings her unique blend of skills and education specializing in Kink Culture and Sexuality, Relationship Counseling, Sex Positive Therapy, Traumatology, and Holistic Psychotherapy. Through her own personal experiences and her unique insights, she has forged an extraordinarily successful methodology designed to conquer overwhelming emotions which may be interfering with your daily life, relationships, work and health.


Wendi "Nicki" Line aka Therapist Nicki is a pioneer in her brand of holistic mental health treatment. After spending over a decade looking at cookie cutter plans of treatment she looks at the whole person and the system they are living in and finds a plan to create balance and harmony. She is also know as the Healing Unicorn using creative methods to clean out old wounds so they can heal and allow for them to thrive. Therapist Nicki is a clinical sexologist specializing in kink and alternative relationships such as polyamory, relationship specialist. She is also a traumatologist addictologist and geek therapist. She works with eating disorders, law enforcement, and military personnel. Therapist Nicki works with individuals, children, adolescents, relationships, and families.


Michael Holler Past President Ethics Committee Chair & Parliamentarian of FMHCA, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Mental Heath Counselor, a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator, a Certified Child Custody Evaluator, a Qualified Parenting Coordinator, a Qualified Clinical Supervisor and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family and County Mediator and a Certifies Kink AwareTherapist & Educator. Michael has a private practice in Tavernier in the Florida Keys. Michael has been working with individuals, families, couples and organizations for over 25 years. Michael is also a Neurofeedback provider. Michael has worked in inpatient psychiatric, community mental health and private practice settings; Michael has worked as an adjunct professor in psychology at Florida Keys Community College. Michael was President of the Upper Keys Interagency Council in 1997. Michael was the first Intensive Onsite Services Counselor in the State of Florida. Michael is now the Education Director for the International Academy of Collaborative Counseling, Coaching Education (IACCCE).
