Description: This presentation intends to raise mental health awareness by identifying emotional and psychological symptoms in response to COVID-19. Effective strategies on how to best manage daily stressors will be discussed with a special emphasis placed on child care. Additionally, the transitioning out of quarantine effect will be explored.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Diaz is licensed as a psychologist, a qualified board approved clinical supervisor for mental health counselors, and HeartMath Certified Trainer. Currently, Dr. Diaz is the Program Coordinator for Mental Health Counseling students at Albizu University, where she teaches graduate courses and supervises student clinicians. Dr. Diaz has appeared on numerous radio and television programs discussing topics on the importance of mental health hygiene, heart rhythm technology and self-care as well as other topics related to ADHD, Self-Harm, and Bullying. She gives lectures on topics deserving continuing education credits and volunteers her time as a way to give back to the community. Additionally, she owns a boutique private practice in Miami Lakes, has over 20 years of clinical experience in the mental health field, and recently became an honored member of the Trademark Top Doctors of America in 2018. Dr. Diaz consistently presents at annual conferences and has participated in the field assessment trials of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM5) where her contribution are noted on page 912. Personally, she strongly believes one must embody what we teach and engages in daily meditation and weight training. She prides herself in not having all the answers and is open to learning from everyone, especially children.
