An addict is only one relapse away from death. So why don’t family members say something before risking the funeral of someone they love?  A family secret of abuse can repeat for generations. So why do people wait so long to confront the perpetrator?  Domestic Violence affects as many as 1 in 3 women. So why don’t people speak up when they see the bruises?  Marital Infidelity affects as many as 40% of relationships. So why are people afraid to confront marital distance more than risking marital failure by stepping outside the marriage?  Mental Illness can’t be treated until people talk openly about the issues. So why do the depressed, traumatized and suicidal often feel so lost and alone?

Learning Objectives:

No one wants to start the difficult conversation – even though they know it could save the life of the person they love – and usually it’s because they don’t know what to say. This interactive training session is designed to walk professionals through the stages of verbal confrontation on sensitive issues to achieve a positive outcome. Addressing communication strategies in real life scenarios will equip professionals on achieving healthier relationships with those they care about, and with those they serve.

There is a difficult conversation you need to have today with a boss, family member or friend. Are you equipped? Attend this confrontation skills development session to be ready. Every participant will receive access to an interactive workbook with key questions, techniques and methods designed to navigate the difficult conversation to achieve treatment goals.

(1)     Map out the most common family secrets and dysfunction and how to effectively confront.

(2)     Gain a strategic approach to confront secrets or addictions with confidence.

(3)     Discover when to challenge, when to confront and when to refer for inpatient care.

(4)     Identify the key elements necessary to confront so you can help a client re-write their family story.

(5)     Develop a family confrontation approach to achieve therapeutic goals.
